In this position... 

The Director, Talent and Organization Development is accountable for budgets, performance, and results of the Talent and Organization Development teams across locations. The role will provide guidance and advice regarding various Talent and Organization Development matters that arise during business while ensuring compliance with relevant company HR policies, procedures, and programs. The role closely partners with senior HR leadership to address complex Talent and Organization Development issues and collaborates with various departments. The role also designs effective communication strategies and oversees their implementation. The role has expertise in stakeholder and risk management, designing Talent and Organization Development policies and standards in line with business priorities, and ensuring compliance further contributes to fostering a compliant and ethical work environment. The role has full management authority for staffing, performance, disciplinary action, pay decisions, team development, and other personnel actions.

This role is hybrid and requires at least 4 days per week onsite in Dearborn, MI.

What you'll do...

  • Leads design and delivery of training programs and online learning pathways for employees across the organization on leadership and other non-technical, general skills and competencies, management development, workplace conduct, etc. subjects to achieve increased team and employee performance.
  • Conducts enterprise-wide projects which involve identifying innovative solutions for various issues pertinent to Learning and Development through exhaustive stakeholder and risk analysis and evaluating multiple alternatives and their business implications. Leads associated interactions with senior internal HR and business stakeholders to update them on progress and initiatives as well as with external vendors/auditors/consultants to integrate solutions into implementable plans.
  • Leads deployment of external vendors and Learning and Development agencies, if needed, to incorporate industry best practices, trends, processes, and products and services into current Learning and Development strategies to ensure alignment with business imperatives.
  • Leads the development of relevant standards, procedures, and reporting templates to ensure efficient and effective learning experiences. Develops and monitors metrics around development initiatives, workforce skills gap, training needs, employee morale, training program effectiveness, etc. by business unit liaising with different departments to provide recommendations to improve training impact wherever necessary.
  • Drives the implementation of enterprise-wide Learning and Development special projects including the design and development of engaging training materials in various formats such as e-modules, instructor-led, webinars, etc. Provides guidance and support to senior management levels in addressing employee training and development-related issues.
  • Develops departmental budgets, regularly monitors the same against actual performance for one or more locations and develops strategies to adjust courses of action in case of variance. Leads associated presentations with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of workforce Learning and Development strategies and processes by partnering with business leaders, HR managers, and other training and development professionals to analyze workforce and enterprise needs.
  • Establishes operating policies and procedures for the subordinate Learning and Development teams in line with their interpretation of company-wide policies and procedures and sets protocols and SOPs around their update at periodic intervals to ensure compliance with relevant laws, communicated effectively to stakeholders, and consistently enforced.
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data related to Learning and Development matters and the governance of the Learning Management system as per established companywide policies. 
  • Performs talent management responsibilities including staffing, performance, discipline, pay decisions, team development, and other personnel actions for the Learning and Development function.

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience with a Master’s degree or 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Learning and Development or a related field.

  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.

Work Requirements:

Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping, standing, climbing, walking, etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $138,240-261,720.      
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
