Technical Lead

Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient MuleSoft Technical Lead to join and guide our integration team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable integration solutions that connect our diverse business applications, data sources, and APIs. You will provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to a team of MuleSoft developers, overseeing the implementation of end-to-end integration components using MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on experience with MuleSoft, a strong understanding of API-led connectivity principles, and a proven track record of leading complex integration projects. You will be instrumental in driving our digital transformation strategy by establishing best practices, ensuring high-quality delivery, and building a seamless and efficient application network.

• Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead the architectural design and implementation of complex integration solutions and APIs using MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform. Define technical standards, best practices, and design patterns for the integration team.
• Team Guidance & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of MuleSoft developers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence within the team.
• Integration and API Development Oversight: Oversee the design, build, test, and deployment of Mule applications, API specifications, and complex integration logic. Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and align with enterprise architecture standards.
• System Connectivity Strategy: Drive the strategy for connecting a variety of systems, including Salesforce, databases, web services, and other SaaS applications. Work closely with product managers, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate extensively with business analysts, solution architects, enterprise architects, and other development teams to gather requirements, define technical designs, and ensure integration solutions meet business needs and strategic objectives.
• Code Quality & Standards Enforcement: Establish and enforce code quality standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices and development guidelines. Promote and oversee the implementation of comprehensive MUnit tests to validate functionality and reliability.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization: Lead advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning efforts for deployed integration applications. Implement proactive monitoring and preventative measures to ensure system stability and optimal performance.
• Documentation & Knowledge Management: Create and maintain high-quality architectural documentation, design specifications, and technical guidelines for all developed integrations and APIs throughout the software development lifecycle. Drive knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 7+ years in developing and implementing integration solutions, with at least 3+ years in a technical lead or architect role utilizing the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Deep and extensive knowledge of the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager, CloudHub, and on-premise deployments.
  • Expertise in designing and developing highly scalable, secure, and performant RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
  • Mastery of data transformation using DataWeave, including complex transformations and error handling.
  • Solid understanding and practical application of advanced integration patterns, microservices architecture, and API-led connectivity principles.
  • Strong expertise in establishing and optimizing CI/CD processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for MuleSoft deployments, coupled with a deep understanding of programming fundamentals and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with various data formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files.
  • Openness and ability to quickly learn and adopt new frameworks, languages, and tools as required for complex project needs.
• Programming Skills: Strong background in Java programming is highly beneficial for custom component development, extensions, and deeper understanding of MuleSoft's core.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex, enterprise-level integration challenges.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, lead technical discussions, and effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins/Github Action and advanced source control strategies using Git.
• In-depth knowledge and implementation experience with security protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security best practices.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams and ceremonies.
• Significant experience integrating with Salesforce CRM and understanding of Salesforce APIs (SOAP, REST, Streaming).
• Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, particularly regarding integration with MuleSoft deployments and services.
• Experience with API governance, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring tools.
