About the role:
The B-BBEE Finance Analyst plays a key supporting role in orchestrating cross-functional collaboration, particularly leveraging the expertise of HR for people-related elements and purchasing for procurement, to craft a comprehensive and compliant B-BBEE strategy that aligns with FMCSA's broader business objectives. Furthermore, this role supports critical financial expertise for beneficiary due diligence, manages the Automotive Industry Transformation Fund (AITF) targets, coordinates annual B-BBEE audits, and offers strategic financial analysis and support across various departmental and cross-functional projects.
What you’ll do:
- Support the FMCSA B-BBEE Strategy, defining the spending and points targets for each B-BBEE Element.
- Collaborate with the Government Affairs, Human Resources (HR) and Purchasing departments to establish these targets, ensuring that the strategy promotes both cost efficiency and sustainable growth for both Ford Motor Company of South Africa (FMCSA) and its supply partners.
- Assisting in the preparation of the monthly management review deck detailing performance against the established strategy, to be presented and reviewed every 2nd week of the month in the Operations Committee (OPCOM) meeting.
- Serve as the key support to the Finance representative (Manager) on FMCSA's B-BBEE Committee, which evaluates all Supplier and Enterprise Development funding requests and comprises representatives from Purchasing, Government Affairs, and Finance.
- Attend weekly B-BBEE committee review meetings.
- Provide support to conduct comprehensive financial due diligence on all prospective beneficiaries, including reviewing their financial statements and funding history, and proactively raise and resolve any identified concerns.
- Assisting in the process to ensure funding requests are reviewed on their merit and provide strategic guidance on alternative funding mechanisms (e.g., loan versus grant funding, capital investment versus donation etc.) that optimize benefits for both FMCSA and the supplier.
- Provide expert financial support for ad hoc requests, such as the value of vehicles (lease or grant) to beneficiaries, and assessing the cost of overheads for beneficiaries operating at FMCSA premises etc.
- Provide finance support for B-BBEE related projects on an as-needed basis.
- Provide financial support to the HR team for tracking Training & Bursary expenditure, including MERSETA grant application funding allocations.
- Assisting in the process to ensure that all required finance schedules are accurately prepared and reviewed with the CFO as needed for the audit.
- Collaborate with various skill teams across Ford to ensure the successful achievement of annual access to market targets.
- Assisting in the process to ensure that the final strategy is thoroughly reviewed and formally approved by the CFO and the President of FMCSA.
- Provide support to obtain necessary approvals and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and coordinate the annual B-BBEE audit process.
- Attend monthly meetings with the AITF to provide necessary support and guidance as required.
- Assisting in the process to prepare letters of support for beneficiaries on behalf of FMCSA as required, ensuring alignment with the Director of Purchasing and Government Affairs Director.

Your background:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Financial Management.
- Demonstrated experience with Southern African B-BBEE legislation and prior work experience in B-BBEE is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of B-BBEE legislation and its practical application.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- AI Literacy: Proficiency in using AI tools for data cleaning & legislative research.
- Automation: Experience with Excel VBA/Macros or Power Query etc.
- Skilled in financial analysis, risk assessment, and financial due diligence.
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive investment analysis.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with full fluency in English, to present data, insights, and recommendations clearly and efficiently
- Disciplined approach to documentation and audit trails, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning capabilities, including the ability to perform advanced data analysis to inform sound decision-making.
