We are seeking a Structural CAE Analyst to join our team, specializing in the analysis and development of Automotive Closures and sheet metal components. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in performing NVH, Fatigue, and non-linear Impact analyses, as well as knowledge of Closures interface components and related hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating design countermeasures to address complex Closures system level issues, utilizing systems engineering principles and FMEA methodologies. Additionally, basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and design constraints is desirable. The Structural CAE Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our Automotive Closures systems, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design innovation and optimization.
As a Closures CAE Ford Champ, your responsibilities are to:
• Perform CAE Analysis and provide design optimization within the program dead lines
• Develop CAE Models and plans to support program milestones
• Support resolution of functional issues within a cross-functional team
• Create CAE Engineering status reports and verify completeness and correctness of CAE Assessments
• Optimize the function, cost and mass of forward model systems using advanced CAE Tools
• Develop or improve current CAE methods and processes using Agentic and Generative AI and ML
• Participate in cross-functional alignment between D&Rs in different functions to comply with the requirements
• Develop Performance vs Cost for each requirement for optimized decision making
• Support ongoing improvement and automation of CAE process
• Build and setup FE models, perform CAE iterative analyses to identify and resolve issues within design and time constraints.
• Verify accuracy and completion of CAE assessments and provide milestone Engineering Status Reports.
Nice to have:
• Knowledge of FEA theory and Structural CAE, with NVH, Durability and/or Fatigue CAE Analysis.
• Knowledge of both Linear Static and Non-Linear Dynamic analyses, including impact FE analyses.
• Knowledge in meshing & postprocessing software like ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView and MetaPost.
• Knowledge of CAE any analysis Software including Abaqus, Nastran, LS-Dyna, FDYNAM or nCode, Optistruct, Hyperworks etc.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, DOE & Optimization Studies to identify design alternatives.
What you´ll need:
- Active student from any of the last 2 semesters of STEM
- 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Programming skills, Python, Matlab, C, C++, R, or other.
- Experience with the following is preferred:
- Understanding different CAE methods Explicit and Implicit.
- Multi-objective optimization using CAE is desired
- Experience with Optimization software like ModeFrontier, Heeds or iSight
- Structural optimization experience using OptiStruct or Tosca is a bonus
- Excellent written and verbal abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills including relationship building preferred
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Fully competent with Microsoft Office Tools
