We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. What will you make today?

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this role…

You will lead New Model Studies and manage material movement across the facility, ensuring seamless support for production and warehousing. This position leverages engineering expertise and practical experience to optimize material flow, enhance efficiency, and uphold high standards of safety and quality.

What You'll Do...

  • Material Flow Management & Optimization:
    • Manage and optimize material flow throughout production and warehousing operations, ensuring material availability at designated locations.
    • Provide expert engineering support for material flow processes, including developing standards, procedures, training, and driving continuous improvement.
    • Design and develop efficient material flow processes and equipment, applying Lean principles to enhance inventory management, space utilization, and overall efficiency in market, sequencing, and kitting areas.
    • Define and manage in-plant storage and call systems, establishing appropriate metrics for material control.
    • Conduct vehicle and pedestrian flow/safety analyses, recommending practical solutions to improve safety, reduce costs, and optimize efficiency.
  • Project Leadership & Industrial Engineering:
    • Act as the single point of contact for Material Flow Engineering on assigned New Model Studies, coordinating departmental responses and internal reviews.
    • Lead project planning, including developing detailed plans, approving schedule milestones, and coordinating labor, facility, and equipment requirements.
    • Identify, forecast, and optimize capital spending for new model programs.
    • Implement industrial engineering systems (e.g., standard cost data, capacity forecasting, shop floor control) and drive new technology and automation for material flow.
    • Propose alternate plans for economic evaluation and administer technical and work procedures.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Planning & Inventory Control, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Packaging Engineering, Material Logistics, Manufacturing, and Product Development to achieve optimal cost solutions and continuous improvement.
    • Interact regularly with internal functional groups and external vendors on technical and administrative matters.
    • Present cost drivers and opportunities to upper management during program milestone and touchpoint reviews.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Material Flow, or Supply Chain.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Proven expertise in material flow, Lean manufacturing strategies, and automation projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across all organizational levels.
